Kitchen view: modern Kitchen by KREATIVE HOUSE

The dining area of the residence is a spell-binding space that has been dressed in white and grey. Stone and marble follow the eye here too and make an appearance on the table top. The granite glistens stylishly under the well appointed lighting that flanks the ceiling to cast a glow over the entire area. Upholstered chairs in a steel frame make for a solid yet elegant look. The kitchen sits to one side, with overhead lamps at varying heights hanging over the island. The open kitchen has a bank of appliances in shining white and chrome, while glass and wood come together to create a sophisticated space.

The staircase and an open layout

Hall: Corridor & hallway by KREATIVE HOUSE

The best part about the Reddy residence is the fact that its main hallway has an open layout. The kitchen has been left open and the entire hall has an open look with the dining room and staircase placed on opposite side, with a joyful lack of walls. The staircase is a glass and wooden affair that has a solid look. The clean lines and the fuss free look blends in very well with the overall elegance of the home.

Wrapped in a prism of style

The glass and wooden staircase leads you into a space that could very well feel like a walk in the clouds. The glass windows that flank two walls make for a view to die for. The recessed niches in the ceiling make an appearance here too and visually lift the space to heights of dramatic design. White walls and a prismatic play of natural light on them create a stunning effect. A potted plant to the side with its wide leaves adds a natural touch to the space.

Style, elegance and a generous sprinkling of luxuriousness create a beautiful canvas in this residence. The Reddy residence has been designed with a minimal look that also has a classical vibe. The classic elements help add an elegant touch to the entire space. The best part about the design of the home lies in the fact that it ushers in a sense of calm even as the luxurious surroundings envelope and excite the senses. The stylish surroundings will make you stop and breathe in the wonder of design that has been achieved. The play of glass, stone and wood heightens the drama as it unfolds and reaches a happy yet designer ending!

Tips to decorate your blank wall!!

How to decorate a Large, Blank Wall? Don’t be intimidated — a big, windowless wall can be the perfect canvas for creative decor ideas. Giving your walls a unique treatment or finish is a great option for completely changing the look or ambiance of your home.

Here are some ideas that will bring some style to a blank wall ….

Consider wall paper

Wallpaper makes an interesting backdrop to a room. People often get scared or overwhelmed by the idea of going too extreme, but a dramatic paper choice used on just one wall of a room can create that “wow” element that every room needs.

Wallpaper today comes in a variety of modern and contemporary colours and patters. Advances in technology have also made wallpaper easier to both apply and remove.

Go with Mural

A wall mural is a great way to add ambiance and style. Wall murals are an easy way to add color, depth and texture to any room. An interesting mural adds glamor to an enormous wall, especially when there are ultrahigh ceilings involved.  These murals can be used for both exterior and interiors.

Stone cladding

Another fabulous way to cover a blank wall is to cover a wall completely with the stones. This will give a beautiful effect.  It adds texture and an interesting look to the entire space.

 Textured Paint

You can add texture to your walls using textured paint. Textured walls have become a growing trend because they can take on aesthetics from fine linen to bold geometric forms.  The textured paint finish is available in many color trends such as metallic finishes gold, silver and copper. Glossy and shiny finish of textured paint can also be obtained.

Beauty of using texture paint is the ability to spark a mood in a space without having to change out the furnishings, flooring, and architectural details.

Use Wall Decal

Another great way to cover the blank wall is by using wall decal. A wall decal, also known as a wall sticker. Decals can range from simple small wall borders to more complex covering entire walls. These decal designs have a matt/satin finish, giving the impression that the design has been professionally painted on your wall.

Hope you get inspired with these ideas!!

Tips to design a perfect luxurious bedroom!!

The word bedroom refers to a place that is comfortable, relaxing and offers privacy. The look and feel of the bedroom can have a huge impact on the quality of sleep. Sleep is important for living a happy and relaxed life and the design and décor of the bedroom plays critical role in ensuring comfortable sleep. Creating a luxurious bedroom is not always about adding expensive accessories and luxury bed linen. You need to make smart décor choices so that you have a gorgeous bedroom. Here are some tips that can help in creating a classy bedroom.

Colors:

Color can really impact the mood one gets when entering a space. Soft neutral colors are generally preferred which allows you to change accessories such as lamps, pillows, lines etc to get just the right look.

Dressing the windows:

Window shades and curtains can really enhance the beauty and overall aesthetic of the bedroom. In addition they can be carefully selected to match your overall design theme and be paired with the rest of the bedding and decor in the room to get the exact style you desire.

Layering the bed:

The bed is the focal point of the bedroom so you need to make sure that the bed is perfect. The setting and look of the bed will determine the tone of the whole room. Creating the perfect layers can help in making the whole bedroom look organized and neat. The colors of bed covers and bedspreads should be according to the color scheme of the room. You can add texture by choosing the bedding items of different fabrics. Piling up the pillows is also an excellent way of adding depth and texture to the bed. The accent pillows are perfect for adding the splashes of color and making it look interesting.

The wall décor:

A bedroom is a place to relax and it is not possible to relax if your bedroom has an impersonal look. You need to personalize the place so that you feel at ease. Cover the walls with your favorite paintings and personal photos so that the bedroom has a homey feeling.

The perfect lighting:

The lighting has an important role to play in creating a comfortable and cozy environment. The bedroom should have more than one light source. You should have lighting with dimmers so that you can adjust the intensity according to your needs. There should be bedside lamps as well so that you have reading lights as well. There are decorative lighting fixtures that will add elegance to the place as well.

Keep your home warm this winter!!

Wow its winter and we have cozy surroundings. We suddenly start to love bonfires and pull out our sweaters. Time goes by really fast but the season shows its effect in the least of time. Reluctant to move out in this chilly weather, home becomes our favorite destination. But only a cozy interior giving out warmth is a favorite. Here are some few tips on how to keep your home warm in winter.

  1. Safeguard your home

Water-proofing is a simple and preemptive exercise that will allow you to guard your home against erratic weather whilst keeping the cold air out. Make sure you check all your doors and windows for any spots that may be leaking cold air and then proceed to seal them.

  1. Re-arrange your furniture.

Sitting by the window can cause radiant heat loss from your body to the glass make you feel cold. To avoid this, make sure your furniture is not in front of a large window or pushed up against an outside wall. Additionally, avoid placing large pieces of furniture in front of radiators as they say, couch or sofa, will absorb the heat you want.

  1. Window Treatments:

More than the doors, it is the window which brings in the cool breeze making us tremble and shiver. Full drapes, especially those made of a wool-cotton blend, help to insulate a room from the cold air seeping through the windows. Line the window treatments to provide more insulation.

  1. Lighting

Lights keep the room warm. Bulbs are preferred to other lights. A chandelier with aromatic candles can also be opted, for both, to spread scent and distribute coziness across the room. A table lamp or wall lamps have the ability to give out warm glow coping up with cold outside.

  1. Area Rugs

Area rugs are often used as a design element in a room; they add color and style while unifying a space. During the cold winter months, they serve another important function: Rugs add a layer of insulation to the floor, trapping cool air underneath and keep it from seeping up and cooling the room. The warmth of the rug will keep your feet toasty, too.

We hope you find these tips useful to you.

Find the right oven for your kitchen!!!

TODAY’S modern kitchen is all about the efficiency, sleek design, and functionality of your appliances. As most of us spend some time and effort preparing meals for the family, it is important to find the right cooker that can address your very specific needs.

Ovens are must-haves in any modern kitchen. Their innovative functions and features only not ensure that meals are made quickly, efficiently and safely but that these appliances make your kitchen attractive as well.

To help you find the right choice, we have, listed some of key things to consider when buying a new oven.

  • Size

The oven size you choose will largely depend on finding the right oven for your kitchen. How much space you have available in your kitchen. Most ovens are between 27 and 30 inches wide, so think about the size that would work best for your kitchen design. Look at the interior oven cavity space as well as the exterior measurements to make sure it will accommodate your most commonly used pans and baking sheets.

  • Wall Oven or Range

You’ll need to decide whether you want to install a wall oven or if you want a range unit that combines the oven and cooktop.

 a) wall oven

   b)  Range

Wall ovens usually have less cubic space than range ovens, so take that into consideration when choosing the size. Depending on their placement, wall ovens are often more convenient for inserting and taking out food because you may not have to bend over as much.  In addition, having a separate cooktop opens up space below for cabinets. However, you may want a range unit if you have limited space in the kitchen. You’ll also need to consider the “landing space” on either side of a potential range placement or near a wall oven for placing hot items.

  • Double oven or Single

c) Double oven

   d)Single oven

If you choose a wall oven, you’ll have the option of installing double ovens. What is a double oven?  It’s simply, two wall ovens that have independent heat and feature controls that enable you to cook different dishes at different temperatures when needed. Of course, double ovens will take up some cabinet and counter top space, so keep that in mind.  The main benefit of double ovens is that you can bake or broil separate dishes at different temperatures simultaneously.  Another benefit is the additional cooking space that you gain. Both of these advantages can be particularly helpful if you have a large family or if you often cook for large numbers of people (think about holiday meals). Consider how much you cook and how often you actually need two ovens to decide if the extra expense of double ovens would be worth it for you.

  •  Cleaning

Few people enjoy cleaning ovens, but opting out of the self-cleaning feature can save some money. However, because self-cleaning ovens often have more insulation, they tend to keep the heat in better which may save on energy costs, potentially helping to offset the added expense.

  • Color

Stainless steel ovens have been all the rage for several years, and before that black ovens were very popular. White or ivory ovens are common choices, especially for kitchens with light-colored cabinets, and decades ago, avocado green and harvest gold were stylish oven and appliance color selections. Metallic finishes, like gold and copper, are gaining in popularity today. When considering the color choice for your oven, it’s usually best to coordinate the color with those of your other kitchen appliances such as the refrigerator, cooktop and dishwasher.  Also, think about your kitchen cabinet finishes as well as your countertop, backsplash and floor colors. If you have an open kitchen plan, think about complementing the colors in adjoining rooms, too.

  • Gas or electric?

Think about the existing power connection and whether installing a gas line is an option.  Wall ovens are generally electric, but ranges come in both electric and gas models.

Whatever type of oven you choose for your kitchen, remember to read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and always operate it as recommended.  Clean any spills or food residue as quickly as possible, and use an oven thermometer occasionally to make sure the oven is heating accurately. Inspect the oven gasket periodically to check for signs of wear and tear to help ensure that heat is staying inside your oven where it belongs.

LIGHT UP YOUR HOME, NATURALLY!

We all love some decent lighting at home. However, most homes have a few dark corners and nooks that can add gloom to a space. A poorly lit home can cause an unpleasant space indoors and make being at home less desirable. Although there are a variety of artificial light options, the key is to find the best way to light up the home naturally. Natural light is excellent for daytime hours, as it saves energy and makes a space look more welcoming. Below are 5 ways to add more light to a home naturally.

  1. Make the most of your windows!

The most obvious idea is having lots of windows. Ensure every room in the home has a natural light so no artificial light is required to be on during the day! Let light seep in thru the windows in the daylight hours to make a space feel more alive. In having a lot of windows, there are a variety of options: There are the conventional windows; there are clerestory windows, which sit above the eye level, high on the wall-yet still brighten interiors; skylights which are windows that bring in light from the sky!

  1. Choose the right window treatment

Going with a lot of windows in the home, the next step is choosing the right window covering because that can make all the difference in how much light the windows give off. Drapes can be heavy or light depending on preference. However, lighter colored drapes allow light to reflect through when it is daylight, without being too interfering or disturbing any sleep. In more public areas of the home, sheer drapes are an excellent solution. They also provide the same, natural light without being blinding.

  1. Use of wall and ceiling colours

In naturally lighting a home, colors matter a lot. While choosing the general color scheme for a particular room or a home, lighter colors, especially white work very well in adding instant light to a space. White walls make a space look open and airy, and it brings in extra light without adding an extra light bulb!. Also ensure your ceiling is lighter than your walls. Go with white if your walls are white — it’s our personal favourite! Matte finish paints are also great for reflecting light.

  1. Mirror, mirror, on the wall!

Mirrors reflect, rather than absorb, light. So hanging or propping a large mirror on a wall opposite a window doubles the light streaming in. You can use smaller mirrors to line the backs of bookshelves, or arrange several of them on one wall. Another idea is to buy furniture with glass, chrome, or mirrored accents.

  1. Gloss Finish:

Whether it is the cabinets or flooring, gloss finish is brilliant for bouncing light around the room. As a finish, it is reflective, instantly brightening up a space and giving the illusion that there is more light than their actually is. Therefore, in adding more light to your home interior, consider a gloss finish for the kitchen, wardrobe, or even the floor.

Natural light in any interior is a definite must have. It creates a more welcoming space and adds some beauty indoors. While considering the interiors for your home, find a way to bring in the light….naturally!
